JENNA TOURJÉ

Jenna Tourjé pursues projects that allow community outreach to be done thoughtfully with an emphasis on impact. As an urban planner, public engagement expert, and community builder, Jenna is passionate about partnering with communities on the path to creating healthy, whole and equitable places. Her work centers on creating opportunities for people to love where they live and have a voice and a stake in the future. Throughout her career she has worked throughout California and  Massachusetts to facilitate dozens of community engagement and coalition building projects both at a neighborhood and city level.

As an urban planning and community engagement consultant in Southern California, Jenna has experience working with elected officials, staff, and residents in multiple cities and counties in the region through a wide array of projects and is certified by the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).

Through her work with the Orange County Health Care Agency’s FIT Cities Initiative, Jenna developed partnerships with local city staff, elected/appointed officials, and residents in 16 Orange County cities to provide technical assistance, training, and outreach to integrate healthy communities strategies into local planning efforts.  

As a group project manager for the County of San Bernardino County Community Plans Continuum process, Jenna team developed community plans for 26 unincorporated communities in rural and low-income areas in the largest County in the United States.

Prior to her consultant work in California, Jenna directed a community planning and visioning process in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts that deeply engaged over 1000 participants from residents to legislators in defining what was next for the community. Her efforts led to the designation of Boston’s first Eco Innovation District and a legacy project for the city, and created a merchants association and Main Streets program for the neighborhood.

Equipped with a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning and certification in public participation, Jenna connects people and place and helps share the stories that shape our geography. Her expertise includes community engagement, facilitation, collective impact, healthy communities, strategic planning & visioning, project management, policy planning, and community development.
